Jeff Howell: Take a Ride on the Entrepreneurial Journey!
Take a Ride on the Entrepreneurial Journey!
Hey, everybody. How’s it going? This is Jeff coming at you with another mindset Monday. And today it’s a special Monday because it’s Halloween. And Patrick and I also just returned from a trip where he came to Austin for a mastermind for YouTube ads. And then we went to California to spend some time with some entrepreneurs and also went to another mastermind for SAS companies there in San Diego. So that was an amazing journey. We were around some amazing people, learned some amazing things and spent some amazing time building relationships with people. And it just really kind of dials me back into the entrepreneurial journey in general because, you know, entrepreneurs are a special breed, you know, and meeting so many of them over the past couple of weeks on this journey, it’s like hearing all of their stories, hearing the challenges that they they’ve overcome to get to where they are and the challenges that they’re facing. It’s just really like hits home because we’re dealing with a lot of challenges to and growing and and kind of, you know, getting to the next level of where we want to be. And I know that all of you have challenges as well. And it’s not unique to entrepreneurs. And any of us at any time could just decide to go get a 9 to 5 and be like, Hey, I’m just going to take a paycheck and all of that. And I’m sure a lot of the people around us would probably understand us more.
They would probably accept us more even in some ways. And life might might be easier in the short term, but in the long term, doing that, you’re never going to get the results that your heart, your heart’s desire, right. Of your heart’s desire. You’re always going to be limited by what somebody else decides your time is worth, and you’re always going to be limited by the opportunities that are kind of stuck within the paradigm of a big bureaucracy. And I’ve been there myself. I worked for a Fortune 100 company for almost ten years of my life, and it was really soul crushing in a lot of ways. It was toxic environment where everybody was concerned about what their how big their office was and how close it was to the corner of the building and what their title was and just, you know, mundane things like that that entrepreneurs really generally don’t care about. Like we can work from anywhere, at least in our business and digital marketing. And, you know, the titles don’t really matter, right? So when you’re thinking about these overcoming these challenges, it’s like think about the fact that and this is what I kind of got from talking to so many other entrepreneurs who have been through so many different iterations of their of their careers and their businesses, is that the solutions are already inside of this.
Right. We just have to uncover them. And I really see entrepreneurship as a path to doing that, to overcoming our fears, to overcoming our limitations, because it brings up those limitations and forces us to face them in real time. And if we don’t, we’re going to fail. We’re not going to be able to move forward. And it’s on us solely our responsibility to do that, to make ourselves a success, to make our businesses a success, and to get to those destinations or not even destinations, but just get to the next iteration, the next evolution of where we want to be in our lives. So this becomes very visceral as an entrepreneur and it’s you’re unless you just quit, you never fail because you’re always stepping into the next version of what it’s going to be into the next step towards the success that you want to create. And it may not look like the result that of your choosing. We’re in the time frame of your choosing, but we’re getting there slowly, slowly but surely. Right? And so if we look at this idea that all of our all of the answers are inside of us. So, you know, with Patrick, for example, he created his agency and he needed a CRM and a management tool and all of these other things, these strategy tools and heat maps and all of this stuff to be able to run his agency and scale his agency at the level that he wanted to, to reach the goals that he wanted to.
He needed these tools. So what did he do? He created these tools. He didn’t just say, well, they don’t exist. I’m just going to do it the way it’s everybody else does it. No, he said, I’m going to create it. And so he found the answers was within him and he found the answers within the team that he surrounded himself with so that he could create lead snap the solution to all of those challenges that he was having and then come to find out. Well, in the marketplace, there’s a lot of other people who have those same challenges and they need a solution and they need that solution that he has created. So if you look around you, it’s not just him. It’s not just one person or the other. Every single thing, every single all these cars back here, all these restaurants and everything, these were all just in somebodies imagination to begin with. They weren’t in the manifest reality. And so who? Whoever created those ideas or brought those visions to be brought forth in the world, had to take steps and take action towards that and find the solutions that were coming through them, that were manifesting through them in real time. And it probably wasn’t easy. It wasn’t easy to make that car back there. It wasn’t easy to start that restaurant.
I’m getting barbecue at that little place back there in the red truck and the red food truck. And I’m sure the people there had this vision, this imagination of providing amazing barbecue, some of the best barbecue around. And it is. And so I come back for more. But they had to take action to go put that together, figure out how to cook it, figure out how to get the truck together. And I know that all of you guys in real time have your own challenges. And some of them may seem overwhelming. They may seem like it’s not even going to be possible to solve them. But rest assured, people have been solving challenges like this forever. And all you have to do is have faith in the vision that you want to that you want to see brought forth and continue along that path. And eventually the path will either direct you into another direction that’s going to get you a little bit further down towards whatever it is that you’re going to end up manifesting, or it’s going to take you directly to where you want to go. Probably not. There’s going to be a little bit of a spin and a circle roller coaster until you get there. But the point is, is that you never give up. And the point is, is that you keep on going and you believe in what you want to see brought forth in the world so much that you’re unwilling to give up.
And what my mentor has taught me is to to think about it like this. It’s like when you have a dream or a vision of what you want to see brought forth. Always not qualify it, but kind of follow it up with this or something better so that you’re anchoring that into your nervous system, that you’re going to achieve this thing where it’s going to be even better than that. It’s never going to be less. And I’ve found that in my own journey over the past many years of of trying to bring projects to fruition is that it never ends up exactly the way I thought it was going to from from job. But if I keep trying, then even more amazing things happen and more opportunities present themselves. More relationships come about and more is more possibility comes into the field. And I think this is one thing also about solving challenges, is that you don’t have to do it alone. You know, when you really believe and you really take committed action towards solving those challenges, eventually the right people, the right place, the right time, my barbecue is ready, is going to come up and you’re going to be able to see that brought forth in reality. All right. I got to go get my barbecue. That’s mindset money for today. I hope you enjoy your Halloween and we’ll see you on the next one.
